At 14:00 pm on July 28thof 2017, the opening ceremony for “China-ASEAN Forum on Traditional Medicine Innovation and Development” was held at the permanent site of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Weekin Guiyang. As a sub-program of the forum,“China-ASEAN Training Class of Traditional Medicine for High-ranking Young Medicine Talents” was successfully held at the parallel sessionof the 10thChina-ASEAN Education Cooperation Weekat Guiyang International Eco-Conference Center during the period from July29th to July 31st.
The training program was greatly supported by competent departments and associ
ated organizations, including the State Administration of Chinese Medicine,Guizhou Provincial Department of Education,Young PhysiciansBranch of China Association for Research and Advancement of Chinese Medicine, Guang`anmen Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and Guizhou Provincial Department of Chinese Medicine. It attracted23 young elite talentsin fields of traditional medicine and medicine of national minorities from ASEAN countries, South Korea, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan for studies and exchanges. Yang Zhu, headmaster of Guiyang University of Chinese Medicine, delivered the opening speech for the training program.
Training courses are divided into five modules of Policies and Measures, Brief Introduction to Traditional Medicine in ASEAN, Current Situations and Applications of Resources of Medicine of National Minorities in China, Functions of Medicine of National Minorities in Regional Economic Development, Field Visit and Observation. Over10 experts gave lessons, and conducted in-depth exchanges with students, including Yang Rongchen, assistant counsel of Laws and Regulations Department of the State Administration of Chinese Medicine; Prof. Chen Yao, head of Humanities and Management School of Guiyang University of Chinese Medicine; Wang Zheng, deputy secretary-general of China Association for Research and Advancement of Chinese Medicine, director of the International Exchange Office and chairman of Young Physicians Branch; Prof. Zhang Yi, head of National Minorities Medicine School of Chengdu University of TCM; Prof. Lan Yuying, head of Zhuang Medicine School of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine; Prof. Zhang Chao, head of National Minorities Medicine School of Yunnan University of TCM; Prof. Du Jiang, head of Pharmacy School of Guiyang University of Chinese Medicine; Dr. Zhang Ning from Acupuncture and Moxibustion School of Guiyang University of Chinese Medicine; Prof. Jiang Weike, director of pharmacognosy teaching and research section of Guiyang University of Chinese Medicine; Niu Min, director and general manager of Guizhou Bailing Pharmaceuticals; and Hu Xin, deputy general manager of Guizhou Plateau Yi Ph
armaceutical Factory. Guests from countries and regions like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Taiwan, separately elaborated current situations of development of medicine of national minorities in the respective areas. At the last day of the training program, guests visited the 1stand 2ndaffiliated hospitals of our school, conducted field observations to outpatient diagnosis of CM master Liu Shangyi as well as Dong medicine special treatment and infantile diarrhea clinical manipulation techniques of associate chief physician Xia Jingfu at the Preventive Treatment Center, understood the characteristic nursing medicine for patients after anorectal surgeries and experienced CM traditional health cultivation techniques named“Baduanjin Exercise”.
On July 31st, all courses of the training program were completed, and the graduation ceremonywas held. Yang Zhu, headmaster of Guiyang University of Chinese Medicine, delivered the graduation speech, and granted graduation certificates to students. Liu Wen, deputy headmaster of the school, participated in the graduation ceremony.
The “China-ASEAN Training Class of Traditional Medicine for High-ranking Young Medicine Talents” has successfully established effective channels between our school and various ASEAN countries for exchanges and cooperation,which will be in favor of enhancing exchanges and cooperation between our school and various ASEAN countries in terms of protection of traditional medicine resources, clinical research and talent cultivation, promoting various countries to reach consensus on the development of traditional medicine, and accelerating the international development progressof traditional medicine and medicine of national minorities in the province, or even the country as a whole.
