The college of Clinical Medicine 1 of FHA is an effective base of cultivating experts of traditional Chinese medicine. Taking on an administration of combining the college and the hospital, the college mainly covers the in-person clinical teaching and internship administration of both undergraduate and graduate students from all majors. This work includes consolidation of basic knowledge and skills of both Chinese and Western medicine and professional training of clinical skills, aiming at producing advanced doctors who can diagnose, teach and research individually in all areas of Chinese and Western medicine. Until now, more than 9000 students have graduated from this program.

Founded in 1956, FHA is the largest “Third Level First Class” Chinese medical hospital in Guizhou province, with a composition of medical treatment, education and research. The hospital adopts equipment worthy of 200 million dollars and more than 1000 ward beds. There are more than 900 staff members in total, with 109 “Advanced Experts,” 60 master degree tutors, 18 “National Chinese Medicine Inherited Professors,” 2 “Provincial Experts” and 11 “Provincial Well-known Chinese Medicine Doctors.” The annual inpatient number exceeds 10000 and outpatient number exceeds 350000. The hospital has titles such as “National Vital Chinese Medicine Construction Unit,” “National Bone-injury Therapist Training Base,” “Official Drug Testing Institution of the Nation’s Drug Administration Bureau” and “The Vital Lab of Researching Traditional and Local Herbology.” FHA also builds up conspicuous contributions to the Nation’s Drug Administration Bureau, managing 3 “Eleventh Five-year” key professional construction items, 1 consolidation item, 3 key majors and 8 provincial construction items. Moreover, it is also “The Hospital of Anorectal diseases,” “Orthopedics & trauinatologyCenter,” “Eye Bottom Diseases Center,” “Training and Testing Center of Chinese Medicine Doctoral License” and “Extension of Treatment Monitoring of the Province.”

The educational progress is outstanding. In the past five years, the students in total publicized more than 20 monographs and more than 300 essays. The college has one province level outstanding major, one excellent curriculum, acquiring more than 220 Natural Science Funds and 6 National Researches.

The college offers promising jobs for graduates. Because of their outstanding knowledge of basic theories and clinical skills, loads of graduates have become elites in various Chinese medicine hospitals. Along with the national renovation of medical system that leads to an increasing need of Chinese medicine therapists, it will be even easier for graduates to find jobs.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Science

Target:Train the students to grasp the basic theory of TCM, clinical medical knowledge and skills and prevention, health care medicine knowledge solidly and systematically. The students will be taught certain modern medicine basic theories, the elementary knowledge and clinical practice skills, a wide range of humanities and social science, natural science knowledge and with strong spirit of innovation. This major is suitable for students after graduation to work at different levels of general hospitals, hospitals of traditional Chinese medicine, medical colleges, medicine clinical scientific research institutions engaged in the clinical, teaching, scientific research and management.

Main course:TCM base, TCM, TCM recipe, TCM diagnostics, human anatomy, histology, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, parasitology, pathology, pharmacology of Chinese and western medicine, medical and surgical, gynecology, paediatrics, facial features science, acupuncture, traditional Chinese and western medicine study on emergency.

TraditionalChinese medicine

This major is arranged in the early admission batch. Students must sign the directional employment agreement of the health administrative colleges at the country level before admission. The students are free of tuition and accommodation during college. After the graduation, the students must work, for at least 6 years, at any of the country level directional institutions. If not able to graduate, the students must return the education expenses awarded.

Target:Train the students to grasp solid general medical knowledge of all areas. The graduates need to work for the rural population, providing comprehensive, continuous prevention, health care, rehabilitation, and other basic public health service.

Traditional Chinese medicine (English directed)

This major is supported by Dalian College of Foreign Languages.

Target:Train the students to master system of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine basic theories, grasp modern medicine basic knowledge, and undertake work of traditional Chinese medical treatment individually. Meanwhile, the students will study courses like humanities, social science, natural science, and basic knowledge and skills of computer application. They will need to proficiently read and write about professional English books and communicate with foreigners. By the time of graduation, they are sure to adopt certain teaching and scientific research abilities. After graduation, the students will work at all levels of general hospital, hospital of traditional Chinese medicine, medical colleges, and medicine clinical research institutions.

Traditional Chinese medicine (all medical areas directed)

Target:to teach the students overall concept of Chinese medicine under the guidance of differentiation theory of TCM, make them familiar with both Chinese and Western medicine treatment technology, as well as humanities and social science related content. The students will learn about prevention, diagnosis, treatment, health care, and rehabilitation skills, aiming at becoming long-term, continuous, comprehensive, instructive professionals who emphasize the importance of health of individuals, family units, communities and overall health maintenance. Students after graduation is suitable for medical institutions engaged in the common disease, frequently-occurring disease diagnosis and treatment, and chronic disease management. particularly suitable for community medical institutions engaged in the all medical areas (including prevention, medical and health care, rehabilitation, etc.).
